China's export container shipping index rises 0.9pc in week of July 26


THE average China Containerised Freight Index (CCFI) for the nation's containerised exports, stood at 823.95 in the week ending on July 26, up 0.9 per cent compared to the previous week, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

The CCFI tracks spot and contractual freight rates from Chinese container ports for 12 shipping tradelanes worldwide, based on data collected from 20 international carriers.

The sub-index for the west East Africa route led the increase with a week-on-week growth of 6.6 per cent, followed by Australia/New Zealand services and Persian Gulf/Red Sea services, which rose 3.7 per cent and 3.2 per cent, respectively, from the previous week, reported Xinhua.

The sub-index for US west coast route dropped one per cent from the week before.
